From Lupus to Liberated: Kay’s Story
Katharine and Seth are thrilled to share the powerful interview they had with Kay Sullivan, Katharine’s mom. Kay went through her own dark night of the soul beginning in 2006 when she was diagnosed with Lupus, a chronic “incurable” autoimmune disease. Kay’s mindset upon her diagnosis and what she chose to do with this information may surprise you. It certainly inspired us! Kay’s unrelenting belief that the body can heal itself from anything as long as it’s given the proper conditions may change the way you view your own body and health. We hope you find inspiration, joy, and gratitude for your body in this week’s episode.
And thank you as always for listening, and if you enjoyed this episode or any past episodes, please share it with a friend and leave us a positive review on Apple Podcast. We appreciate the support so much!
More about Kay Sullivan:
Kay is a native Floridian. She’s been married to her husband, John, for nearly 45 years. They have 3 children (Katharine, Sarah, and Sergey) and one grandson, Bradshaw. In her early years Kay worked as a medical social worker in St. Petersburg. She spent some years as a stay at home mom and later, in an effort to combat suburban sprawl in their area, she and John began building a pedestrian friendly new town. When she fell chronically ill and faced a dark night of the soul, she had to rearrange and reconsider her life and life choices in order to regain her health. Kay believes that whatever the circumstances, healing is always possible.
